Parish Life
At The Church of Our Savior, we believe that our life together should be an extension of the Eucharist, sharing God’s love and life among us in joyful and tangible ways. Our congregation is made up of a diverse and dynamic group of people who love the Lord, care for each other and seek to grow in understanding and experience of His love through our church community. Parish events include a variety of spiritual and fellowship experiences that bring us together in fun and celebration. In times of crisis, our love for one another is readily evident in the support provided through intercessory prayer, cards, meals, and our presence in the home, the hospital or wherever we are needed.
A full breakfast is offered every Sunday during the school year following the early worship service. Coffee hour after the second Sunday morning service provides additional time for parishioners to connect. Numerous teams volunteer their time, culinary talents and good food to be enjoyed by all. During the summer months a lighter fare is served continental style. Wednesday evenings provide opportunities for prayer, study and conversation. Covered dish luncheons, barbeques, suppers, and picnics are offered several times a year for secular as well as liturgical and seasonal celebrations, and there are parties and dinners sprinkled throughout to carry out a theme or to celebrate a special event.
Parish activities include:
Sunday breakfasts and coffee hours
Wednesday night soup suppers and study
Barbecue dinners
Semi annual yard sales
Mardi Gras celebration
Lenten Suppers
Easter Dinner on the Grounds
Fall Parish Retreat
Stewardship Appreciation Dinner
Annual Picnic
Life is short,
and we do not have much time to gladden
the hearts of those who travel with us;
so be quick to love,
and make haste to be kind;
and the Blessing of God Almighty,
The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit
be Among you and remain with you always.
Amen.
